Dual Windows windows 8 Professional and Windows 8.1
Thanks in advance,
I had bought a windows 64 bit I-7 machine ,it had windows 8 basic already installed, which i had updated to windows 8.1 basic, but hyper
V is not available on this OS. I have another windows 8 Professional OS which i want to install on the same machine so i can have hyper V( because of windows phone and store app developments). So
Is it possible that
- i can install windows 8 Professional/Ultimate while already i have windows 8.1 on the machine.
- Any other way i can install Hyper V on windows 8.1 without upgrading to windows 8.1 professional or without spending more money, i dont want to upgrade my Windows 8 Professional to windows 8.1

Why not install Windows 8 Professional and upgrade that to Windows 8.1 instead of Dual Booting Win 8 Basic?
Hyper-V is available on Windows 8.1 Pro thus there's no need for you to dual boot. Install Hyper-V: Win+X, Program and Features, Turn Windows feature on or off, then check Hyper-V. Restart your PC and you'll see Hyper-V Manager under Administrative tools
or search Hyper-V Manager using Charms (Win+C
Anyway, yeah you can install Win 8 Pro as dual boot. You may need to use bcdedit
if you can't find any option on the installation disk to install that as dual boot.

I agree with Renante.
Having a machne that dual boots just adds another set of issues that you will need to deal with.
If you have no reason to run Win 8 or 8.1 instead of Win 8.1 Pro, just reinstall Win 8.1 Pro as your only OS.
Hope this helps.

Hi Mirza,
If you want to upgrade to win8.1, what driver issues did you encountered during the process? Any error message? I suggest you check the log in windows\Logs\CBS.log. You should also keep your PC up-to-date before upgrading to win8.1.

Actually, Yolanda replied with links to dal boot instructions on Dec 27th.
Hyper-V is only available on non-home versions of Windows 8/8.1
We were just trying to point you in a better direction than dual boot.
Good luck.

I appreciate the efforts but well in simple English, My question is still not answered , let me rephrase and make it simple;

Please i dont need opinions here , if any one know answer please answer in simple , Yes or no.
